Me on Me
There are key threads which link all my career choices and have motivated me in my life. The first is my enthusiasm for learning, for passing on my knowledge to others, in education not as a means to and end but as a life long journey of discovery enabling the acquisition of new skills & experience and through learning being able to make a significant difference to the life choices of others. The second is the management of change, innovation and building highly successful teams. Over the course of my career I have become an accomplished leader who can inspire others with a clear vision and a desire to positively influence the future. The third revolves around my belief in the power of humanity, in selfless action and in being able to change and save the lives of others.
I have a strong ethical approach to my life and work, based on honesty, compassion, integrity, empathy and respect for others. This translates for me into promoting human dignity and the rights of the individual, promoting the family as the basic unit of society, working for the common good, encouraging the sense of community and commonality of purpose, in solidarity and subsidiarity, striving for excellence through work and the development of those engaged in it, to pursue peace, justice, care for the poor and those in need.
My work in recent years has enabled me to develop my interest in rural land use, in the natural environment and the land based economy developing strategies for sustainability and diversification, the effective management of rural land & property, encouraging nature connections and the benefits of the outdoors.
I am an advocate of charity and the concept of volunteering, encouraging a sense of purpose in the young and enabling them to see the potential they have to influence the future of our society through learning, experience and action.
I have always tried to be myself and to make that worth being, by being the best I can be and trying to be better than the person I was yesterday.
in 2021 I decided to begin a long overdue book sharing my thoughts and experiences and talking about My Life's Work. Hoping to have it published by late summer 2022.
